Default ! HELP ME! Kind of noob, not fully

So I was driving recently, top down, got on it in 2nd to just crack vtec and shifted 3rd and I hear "pop" 1 single time as soon as I let out of throttle, I can continue acceleration to whatever speed and it's fine. Also doesn't seem to do it if I go up to 7.5 or 8k rpms. But I've only done it once to see. It's happened to me I think a total of 3 times, that I have heard it, but it hinders me because I don't like the sound at all. Also, I only really heard it with the top down. I have Brian Crower dual valve springs and steel retainers that I installed a few THOUSAND miles ago before I moved to Florida, but it was winter so the top was up. With the upgraded spring rate on the valves would it cause it to pop when it crosses from VTEC back over to regular lobe?

Yet, I just moved here to Florida from Missouri and it's middle of summer now. It seems to almost heat soak itself and when I notice it's sluggish in the throttle I don't hardly go past VTEC just in case the sound is bad. Previously I changed TCT, and adjusted valves on the loose side since moving here, but am just now NOTICING the sound.

Please help
SOrry for the long post

It happens as soon as I lift off throttle to shift to next gear usually immediately following a vtec crossover

I'm like 95% sure. It sounds like a piece of plastic snapping in half. And if the engine is operating temp it's fine, but if I drive around and it gets really warmed up it will start to accelerate slower it feels. If I crack vtec when it's warmed and doing this it seems like that's when it pops. Again, I haven't wanted to really do it just in case.

If it is, the sound would have to come off of the exhaust manifold. I can't hear it at all behind the car that I notice. But that's understandable. Again it happens when it gets really warmed up from a good drive.

My car will pop between shifts or on track under down shifting I get very loud snaps and pops. Just spitting flames is all. No harm done. If you're on the stock ecu and an AP1 you'll be running rich as it compensates.

Welcome to Florida, it's hot as balls all summer and the car will always run sluggish in this heat. T-minus 5ish months until decent weather.

Thank you bro. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't predetonating or anything. Have you changed your coils lately? I was going to check resistance on them.
