oh... actually the core motor is an '06 iirc... i'll go look at it here in a few, but i definitely need a 2.2L bottom end... any year, as i'm swapping sensors and whatever for the KPro anyway... brb in a few with more info...

Check with hondapartsunlimited.com. I have had a lot of luck with them in the past. Much more than majestic.

kalibo: thanks! They are about the same price as Majestic, plus shipping also... i'd like to be able to get that price or better, and be able to pick it up and not be charged the shipping cost, ya know?

I had to sell a bunch of stuff to pay for the new motor, and i just don't have that much to work with, so every penny i can save is worth the effort...

No Core needed it is a NEW motor from Honda ....Majestic is a great price. I will have to go there if I need an engine.

They can be resleeved and remanufactured. The OEM Honda blocks are all New though, No Remanufactured ones.

yeah John I agree on the new SB now that you described your situation.

there is only so much massaging you can do to a crank and unless you want a huge head gasket there is only so many times you can deck the head and/or block. How is the head BTW?

A do-it-yourselfer like you should reap great benefit as far as labor is concerned either way you went.

keep us posted on your progress if you dont mind or have the time. Im interested to see what you come up with. Are you doing any tricks or upgrades to various internals while you build it back up?
