John: THanks for looking it up and making the calls man, i do appreciate it... looks like i may have to suck it up and hit up Majestic.

Rob: the head is fine thankfully. If the head was damaged, i'd have to just go the junkyard motor route... but i'll get it all cleaned up when it comes off, take it to the machine shop and have them give it a once-over, basic bs... I'll keep y'all posted though... but no i'm not going to do any internal work or anything to it, as its not allowed in the rules of my class... and any gain from it would probably be so negligible that it wouldn't be worth the risk of being torn down and being DQ'd or something dumb... lol! I'd rather keep it on the level.

Scott: maaaaaan, if i'm going to SM, i'm gonna need more than the K24... i'd need a turbo V6... we've talked about that... haha!

2big4aS2000: well then why even bother posting about it? Thats like saying "well i have the ABILITY to help you, but since i'm greedy and gotta get PAID to help in any way, i'm not going to... haha!"... Thanks for "helping" your fellow S2K owners out there...

Concerning Andy's post....I think he was assuming you were not doing the work on the engine... A bit backhanded but I dont think it was meant as sarcastic or with malice...mis-communiction on that one IMHO

i have tried to help the s2000 community many times over, but with this typical attitude anymore questions me to ask why? and to comment on
"i'm greedy and gotta get PAID " is far from the truth, my knowledge and contacts over the years working on s2000's (way before most have owned one) has a value & costs, last i checked cost on a AP2, was about $2400, so it looks like you found a source, so your complaint is shipping? I say get off your walet and man-up. If you want to play- you have to pay..... My parts and labor rates are cheaper than anyone in the tampa bay area, 10% over cost, and $50hr, so greed wont be found here.

good luck on your search.

John, I am in Atlanta training but I will try and call Hondaland tomorrow and see what we can do pricewise.

To bad this didn't happen three weeks ago. I just let my complete 05 35k motor go for 2k.

no problem, I wish I could have been more help. I have heard Majestic has great prices on big purchase items. In a few instances I have been able to do better for people on here just because of shipping n what not. New OEM shortblock looks like the best route though, especially since you have a good cylinder head($2K more). It will be a bare block needing everything changed over tho.... Make sure to use a GOOD head gasket though. My freind replaced the head gasket in his CRX 2 times with a NAPA one and it blew out both time. Put the OEM one in and never had another problem.

If I ever needed a lower end I would go new for sure, Majestictoo. Ide have to take the drive to save a few buck though. There a FLA dealer arnt they

No progress been in Hawaii for the last week and a half, so i haven't been too active on looking either though.

At this point i'm probably looking at buying a used motor setup and plopping it in, and taking my chances...
