Default how many rpms do you guys drop in the 1-2 shift

ok.. im new to tha game...

when im shifting at 8500 im seeing rpm's go to 6000... is this normal?

goddamn 1st gear revs so freakin fast after vtec.. 7k - 9k is in the blink of an eye... and when i clutch in it drops fast... and 2nd hits hard...

i know i need to be a faster shifter... but is this remotley normal behavior for you guys? or is my clutch slipping a little?

2-3 shift is a lot better for me...

As long as you stay in the higher cam after you shift, that's what matters. If you shift at redline and drop out of V-tec, then you have an issue.

well... yea i know... im askin if your shifting at 1-2 at 8500... what rpm do you end up at?

by "issue", you mean just slow shifting or an issue with the drivetrain?

Issue I was talking about was driver error. I shift at redline all the time if I'm in V-tec. I think I drop down to 6900 or so. Not too sure, since I don't really pay attention to anything but redline.

If you are getting a good firm hit when you shift, that's good. My clutch has been borderline bad since 2k miles. It's not a firm hit after the shift like it should be.

I have shifted at red line a lot and I drop down to about 7200 but I get better performance shifting about 8k. It seems like it pulls more.

so im understanding everyone is dropping about 2000 rpm's... im dropping about 2500 on average... so thats probably jus driver error on my part...

Yes, like tidal said it is turbo now. The shifting I was talking about was when I was supercharged.
