Default Hurricane damage

Did anyone get any damage? I work for an insurance co handling auto claims. We will be here all weekend working extra hours.. so far have seen a lot of claims from Orlando, trees falling on cars, garages collapsing onto vehicles, debris damaging cars etc.. Did you get any damage?

Went to Polk county today and it was like a war zone. Trees everywhere, power lines all over the road, roofs and insulation all over the place. My parents have a house on a lake near Winter Haven, they had most of the shingles blown off, 5-6 docks in the neighborhood had simply disappeared, screened pool enclosures were just piles of aluminium and of course the trees and power lines all over. My girlfriends parents house is in Bokeelia which must have had a big red X on it since thats pretty much exactly where it made landfall. Apparently the damage to their house is moderate but not too terrible, chimney was relocated to the driveway, and some windows were lost. The rest of the neighborhood didn't fare so well though, lots of walls and roofs missing and of course, trees & power lines. I'll probably be heading down there to help out tommorow or the next day so I'll post pics when I get them, we haven't been able to find any with the exception of mobile homes in Punta Gorda or Arcadia. Hope everyone made it through safe and with minimal damage. Good luck, stay safe...

After all of our preparations the storm missed us and ducked in to the south. We were lucky in the Tampa area, we got more rain on saturday then on Friday-go figure.

Barely a drop of water fell on us.

My thoughts go out to my brother and family in Lakeland as they have some clean up work to do all over that area.

Yea we got lucky ! I put my car in an airport hangar in brandon as a precautionary measure. I live right on the bay, so my apt. would have been gone...

I had to evacuate Thursday night, and could not get back in until Saturday morning. The only thing that we had was about 2 feet of water in my back yard, but no damage to the house, Thank God.

We got very lucky indeed!!!

Can anyone in the Orlando area let me know if it's OK to visit that area at this time? We were planning on flying into Orlando and visiting my Aunt in Springhill the first week of Sept. Are the roadways clear or are there still some closures?
Best wishes to everyone who made it through OK!
