I would almost like to do a set of S pods and have them on a switch when imaging doesnt matter. I listen to talk radio and audio books on trips so the S pods might work for that. I am alo looking for another alternative to the S pod for behind the head. I will let you know what I find.
naw, everyone in the Electronics Forum that harps on bad imaging has never heard the S-pods. (I am a founding EJ, and actually created the badge) My imaging is great, and i don't loose a whole bunch of frequencies because i've got a speaker shoved down behind the seat. It's all about tuning your set-up. The fader can do wonders. The rears are for fill only anyway. We're building a stereo not a surround sound system.

I will need to hear them sometime. Lets face it we are limited with location for speakers. I agree the behind the seat location is like firing the speaker in an anechoic chamber.

I don't hear that well anymore due to years of playing drums. Older audiophiles crave those clear highs since we can't hear them anymore.

Just wait untill I get my exhaust on top of that.

it's a sportscar after all. i believe that the best listening environment is at home, not taking a corner top down @ 85 mph in vtec! (however, i find the latter more exhilarating)

That said, we can still have a decent system that you can hear with the top down @ 100 mph+. You will need amps for that however, and putting s-pods in a system where the fronts are powered as much as the rears will give you imaging problems. I.E Headunit powering all speakers. However, if you power the fronts adequately, say 75+ watts each, you can get great imaging and sound as long as your s-pod rears are powered by the headunit and are completely overwhelmed.

Just finished the rear Infinity speaker install using the lucid panels. Wow, For something that doesnt add much volume, the the sound is amazing. The highs seem to disapear since they are firing into the seatback but my Pioneer head unit has a setting that is called Front Imange Enhancing. It alows youy to send only the lower frequencies to the rear speakers with selective cutoff between 100 and 250 Hz. Sounds great set at 160hz.

The infinity 5 1/4s just barely fit but it works for me. I am very happy with the improvement. Now for the Sub.....I am thinking of going with the KSC-SW1 Kenwood on a self designed removable platform. I will let you know as the system progesses.

Don't forget the Bass Shakers! The more I use them, the more I like them. A dozen people sat in the car this past Sat up at Sonic and everyone said they were buying them! Drummer to drummer, these is the coolest stereo mod that puts the punch right where we like the kick drum to hit us.......right is the A%#!!

Even though I have the quick connect set up for my sub in the trunk, I have yet to put the Alpine sub back in since I took it out for the Dragon Trip. That is how much I like the sound package.

I am not sure how the Talk Radio will perform but, my style of music from Stevie Ray to Dave Weckyl just sings through these speakers. Remember, that the trunk rattling RAP style of music will not be acheived with these shakers, but they are not made for that.

Here is the link where I got them from if you are interested,

Anytime that you want to hear/feel these, contact me.

The S pods are awesome. I have mine hooked up to the rear speaker of the deck which has more power than needed and you can fade it.

The MoMo amp is a solid 80W to all 4 channels. The front 2 channels are the 6.5 components by themselves. I have the Bass Shakers in line with the rear Polk's so the resistance is a 2 ohm load. If I want a little more punch, I just fade the REAR's a tad more. My installer (Craig) had the setting at F4 and this was great for the jazz music. But when I threw in Molley Hatchet, I had to move it to the F2 position to get the "Kick" that I was looking for. I have listened to music at the the zero fade with equal power to all 4 channels and even this sounds great but trying to keep the essence of music in front of me instaed of surrounding me is always my target.
