Wow, very sad. Amazing how quickly the street racing story got out of hand. You should post the link in Car Talk, I'm sure people would like to read it.

really sad to read the news story. hope his family is ok.

an anti-street racing organization was an idea that popped up in that thread. that'd be something that would probably reduce the police profiling going on everywhere.

Very sad.... To think so many people die coming/going to the Keys. Something has to be done about that road, and Krome.

May he R.I.P.

If I catch any of you all street racing, I'm going to sic Tommy on you!

In all seriousness. Shows that street racing isnt safe. Take it to the track. No matter how good you think you can drive, stuff can happen you can't control. Please be safe everyone!

The Whole point is that he WASN'T racing. Witness behind him said he was cruising in the slow lane, and his car jerked left, and then right, slid off the road road and the drivers door took a direct hit from the pole. The witness was a retired Navy Officer, and they said his rotor (left/front) was smashed and stuck thru the rim, tho the front end was undamaged. Something just broke, and the kid is gone. Very sad because he was obviously very well liked.

I was actually down there. We were wondering what happened because they had cars lined up all along the road. Sad news....
