Default Moving to Florida

Hello everyone,

I'm from Toronto Ontario, Canada...and no I do not live in an igloo, worship beavers, or know stacy from winnipeg!

Regardless, just inquiring about living in West Palm Beach, as I will be residing there as of August 1st, for exactly one year. I have been looking for a Honda S2000 for quite some time now, and have come across a few great deals here and there. I haven't been able to pursue them because of my current location, however, I do plan on purchasing one in Florida when I move down there.

Reason I compose this thread today is to ask the gentlemen and ladies of Florida, how nice West Palm Beach is to live in, as well as if anyone is extremely familiar with the area? I will be attending Northwood University, and living close-by in Portofino Lakes.

Can anyone shed some light on living there, and particular areas I will have to visit or stay away from?

Thanks in advance, and I do appreciate any input people have to offer.

I just attended a conference in Palm Beach Gardens which is just north of West Palm Beach. The area looked nice and hospitable. Would recommend Spoto's for dining on PGA Blvd just west of I95.

The area has lots to offer in many different categories. I drove around a little while I was there and can say I didn't end up in a 'ghetto'. Every area has a not-so-pleasant place ... but, I've seen much worst.

Good luck on the move

I grew up in WPB and left there 5 yrs ago (to crowded)
The nite life downtown is not bad, also Delray Beach to the south.
I grew up surfing, diving, fishing, runn'in to the Bahamas. There is also Palm Beach Atlantic Univ. downtown.

Good Luck

I wouldnt buy an S2000 until u find a nice place to live with a garage. I am sure south florida is a lot worse than toronto when it comes to stolen S2000's. South florida is notorious for getting our cars broken into and stolen.

I am sure there are plenty of nice places in wpb like every other city but not sure about the area. I live a little south of there in boca raton.

Its also about driving your car to south florida like miami and stuff that is real risky. Don't want to scare you from buying this car, but you have to realize the risks. I know a lot of people have bought them and later sold them cause it was too much of a hassle or it got stolen and stripped.
