Default Need some advice...

My wife and I have decided to make the move to Maine. Instead of taking the S, we decided to sell it here and use the $ to get something 4WD. My question is: Is it easier to part out the S and sell her as stock, or leave the mods in place and try to attract buyers with the nicer wheels, stereo etc. Thanks in advance for the advice.

it is more difficult to part her out, but you will make more money.

sorry to see you go.

Get an STI for Maine's roads.

Normally, you don't make that much more on a car with mods over one that is stock. Like Bill says...you will make more if you part out the aftermarket and put her back to stock.

part it out and make more $$$

it will be tough to find a buyer privately with mods and they will not give you anything for the mods at a car dealership.

everybody wants KBB or cheaper for all cars they buy regardless of mods and dealers dont care and will basically strip and throw away any mods anyways

Im in the car business, and here is how it works for me. A custom car not only takes someone who wants something custom, but it also takes someone who likes what you have done. If they dont like your rims they wont buy your car, unless you sell it for the same price as a stock one, but dont expect to get anymore for the car with the mods. If you dont mind doing it I would take the parts off and put her back to stock. I wish I would have grabbed my $1200 JIC coilovers off my WRX when i sold it, the guy who bought the car would have been happy with stock suspension, but i was too lazy to take it off the car befor i put it in the auto trader.

Thanks for the speedy replies. The vote seems unaminous...parting her out seems to be the way to go.

Just one thought... resale value might be better up there, specially this time of year. Check edmunds.com...
