Coupe means two doors, usually for two people. The verbiage in the article says Coupe-like styling.

Four door coupes are all the rage these days. The new S-Type has these styling elements as does the anticipated Aston Martin Rapid. Even BMW is toying with the idea, having shown a concept of a new four door coupe at this year's Shanghai auto show which would be sold at a price point higher than the 7 Series. Most of these four door coupes are characterized by a swooping C pillar and blacked out B pillar and either frameless doors or doors with the top section of the frame built into the roof line. (I wonder why GM doesn't get credit for this niche of vehicle given these two elements were prominent in the orginal Oldsmobile Aurora.)

From a marketing perspective, the manufacturer can develop a new model built on an existing platform already devoted to a typical sedan or saloon. The Mercedes CLS is a classic example since it shares a platform with the current E Class. Usually, the manufacturer then charges a premium for a new model spun off an existing chassis.

I bet this one will start at the upper end of the exisiting Passat range.

chubacka is a 8ft tall wookie that lives on the planet endor with 3ft tall ewacks... now why would an 8ft tall wookie live on a planet with 3ft tall ewacks? it just doesnt make since! this is not a coupe, it just doenst make since!



in all seriousness this is a sedan but the companies choose to call them coupes cuz of their styling and to try to differ them from sedans since sedans arnt "cool" kinda in the same why everyone wants to call their suv's xuv's and such.

really what it is, is another way to screw with me, i work at advance. i already have a hard enough time trying to get people what they want when they dont know what car they have, this is just gonna make my job that much harder.
