Smile ouch! rearENDED 2day

Waiting to turn left at a light. no-one in front of me. Just chilling before work listening to tunes thinking about design... then...

BLAMMO!

i'm in the middle of the intersection. luckily no cars were crossing. Get my wits together, Get out of my car

RAGING WTF!

Big latin dude in a Firebird starts apologizing. I'm still so pissed. starts explaining how his brakes don't work. I explain to him that stopping is more important than going...

cool down.. no reason to fight, damage is done... shake my head and waste the day in the E.R.

First scratch was a doosey. For those who haven't met me yet, i'm seriously anal about the little honda. This sux

yeah, it couldva been worse... i've still got my health. But i've got a sore neck/back. and a F'd-up car.

still drives strait. not so bad. :knocksonwood: I'm thinking the damage is all superficial. The trunk gaps are still the same. The rear quarters are fine, so it looks like a new bumper and exhaust.

Anyone know a good bodyshop in East Central Florida?

Bill, I am sorry about your mishap I have been there before - Here is a pic of my car about two years ago - Be thankful you were alone and your new baby or wife wasn't in the car! My best friend is a very good laywer here in Orlando if you want some advice. I am not one to sue over petty things but my injuries from a similar crash didn't surface until many days after the accident -

thanks for heads up nick,
I've got a few friends in the know and they told me to go to the hospital and get x-rays, as soon as i could. It was a minor accident by all accounts but the driver of the firebird told me he was going 40, and there were no skid marks, no squeals of brakes or anything. I had the car out of gear and my foot gently resting on the brake. When he hit me i must have been pushed 20 feet or so. I've got lortabs in me now. my back still hurts a bit, and will hurt more tommorrow, and i've got a job interview at 9:30 AM.
i felt silly in the ER with considering how serious other peoples injuries were. they put me on a back burner because of that. I was there for five hours.
My bumper isn't that bad. When i look at the pics it looks like a minor fender bender, which i guess it was. it just ruined my day, hopefully that's all it will ruin.

But i do want a top notch body shop if anyone knows of one.

Sorry to about hear it. I have been there also but not as bad as nzaizar.

Make sure you get his insurance to pay for how much less your car is worth now that it has been in an accident. I got $3200 for it. Basically you get your car appraised after the work is done and whatever the difference is from what they think it is worth, you get.

It is called diminished value, it works in Florida.

Good luck. PM me if you need help.

Jcarlton brings up a good point I forgot to mention - I did receive extra in my settlement for diminished value because if I were to sell my car it would be worth less because of the accident - I know of good body shops in Orlando (actually Longwood) and Sarasota. Hope I can help!

Glad you're okay, Bill. Worst part of it is having to deal with insurance and having your car at a body shop. Don't know of a good one around, sorry. Hope it all works out well.
