Problem with S&R

For the record ... this kind of tire-wear CAN happen within just 100 miles if the alignment is inaccurate (or other contributing factors.)
Either the alignment wasn't done correctly.

The tires were already dangerously worn when the alignment was done.
What are the other scenarios? She was burning out from FL to GA?

So this past tuesday i drove to Tampa for some non car related business and i really needed to get an alignment done since i was going to be driving to NY that thursday. Well i had hear good things about S&R so i decided to go there to get my alignment. While i was there, they knew i was from out of town (orlando) and did my alignment. No problem. I drove back to Orlando and still had some shaking but i thought maybe i just needed to get my rear tires balanced. the next day i started my drive up to NY. While in South Carolina i had a guy tell me something was wrong with my rear tires and that they looked like they were going flat so i pulled over and checked the air. Nothing. okay, so i decided to pull over at the next city and just get them balanced. well..this is what i found:

Im a little upset that they didnt even bother to mention this. i feel like this is a pretty big deal and im upset about it. im not sure what i should do? should i call them? im kinda shocked they even did the alignment. and on top of that now i have to get one redone since it pulls hard to one side since i put the new tires on.
suggestions?

I am in Japan and the first time I get on I see this. i will find out what the problem is. I do no that most of the S2000s want Euro Specs and that is very aggressive. If the tires were worn but not showing the belts then it wouldn't take anytime to wear them to show the belts.
I know I express upon my guys to point out problems when they see them. i have not been able to get in touch with Bobby to see what happened but I will get to the bottom of this.
It is a little disheartening to see someone post problems before calling the shop to find out what happened and work things out. We work on thousands of cars a year and there are mistakes that happen. We strive to do our best and if we mess up, fix it.
Some people have problems and go straight to the web and later get it fixed and feel bad about posting, but to us the damage is done. Bashers show up, people that work for competitors shop show up, everyone likes to jump in when they have no idea of what they are talking about.
I feel reasonably sure that if the tech doing the alignment saw cord he would point it out. Why wouldn't they? We might make some money on a tire sale.
I will find out what happened and PM you.
I don't see a need to lock this thread unless it gets into a off topic bitching session. I am proud of the work we do at the shop and in the three years we have been doing business, we have made a pretty good reputation. There have been mistakes as there will be at any shop. We strive to fix them and make the customers happy. Several customers that start off upset and post problems end up coming back after we work things out. Most people posting problems here have been back to our shop.

Now back to the problem.
I just spent half a months salary to call the shop.
It appears that the tech and Bobby did tell Viv that she needed new tires. She was even looking at my wheels in the shop because she knew she needed new tires. I have two techs and Bobby confirm that was true.
The car was dropped off and Bobby asked her if she wanted European specs and she said yes. The tires were worn but not showing any cord.
Bobby is busy still work well after hours and assured me that if he had known she was driving a long distance he would have mentioned that Euro specs would not have been good on worn tires for a long drive.
Everyone here knows that with worn tires it would not take anytime to wear through a thin thread on the inside.
Viv I am sorry you had a problem but at this point i don't see what we can do.
1.) You agreed to European Specs. Most S2000s that come to us do this to drive more agressive and know it wears the tires more. Maybe you didn't and we should have told you.
2.) You were told that you needed new tires and didn't replace them.
3.) There was no cord showing at the time of the alignment and so there was no danger when thew car left the shop. Bobby says he didn't know you were driving as far as you did on those worn tires or he would have been more insistant that you needed to replace them.
In the future when someone comes in we will make sure they know what European specs are and the good and bad side of doing it.
This is not ment to bash Viv in any way, this is just stating what happened.

It is always fun to wake up and see three pages of post about my company.
We do try and provide the best customer service we can and comunication is the best cure.
It has been hard lately because in addition to being slammed with business we are moving to the 10,000 sq ft facility and the move is slow and painful.
Jeff-
I hope that you take my comments not as criticism nor placing blame on your (or your shop/employees) but something to consider in the future:
I think that if a shop notices something 'wrong' with a vehicle, they, at the very least, should make the customer sign a waiver that points out those issue(s).
For example, Bobby (or the tech that worked on Viv's S2000) should have made Viv sign a waiver stating the condition of her tires before the work was done and their recommendation(s) about those tires. In this day & age of cell phone cameras, her tire condition could/should have been noted before any work was done. Same way a print out of the before alignment specs and after alignment specs should have been given to Viv, and a copy kept by you.
