Talking Question?

Hi, I am planning to buy an Alpine head unit for my S2000 and would like to know if the dash audio controls would work with an aftermarket audio head unit. I appreciate your help. Thanks

I believe you still need to buy a DCI, check out the marketplace. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me

i thought there was an Alpine unit coming out this year that already had the DCI (Dash Control Interface) built in. I'm sure someone will either confirm or deny this.

Otherwise you can use the Modifry.com DCI like me.

I'm putting a CDA-9857 in mine with a Alpine Wired DCI from modifry.

I haven't received the DCI yet but I can let you know how it works when I do.

You can also get a DCI for IR units too (non-steering wheel control compatible Alpines)

The Modifry DCI works well and also includes a speed control function. It is super easy to install. I believe that you can get it to plug into certain HU's via jack, but I'd ask in the Electronics forum to make sure.

the newer alpine HU's have a jack and can be hardwired. It's a different DCI however.
