Yeah I thought about that location but since I will never need to touch it I want to move it to a less visible spot. I am currently thinking of the "glove box", it has that elastic strap on the door and I have a clip on my iPod case that will clip right to that. I know that the strap will eventually stretch out but..

I also bought the modifry glove box organizer so I might customize that to hold it instead.

Once I figure it out I'll take some pics and we can meet up if you want to see the finished product in person.

if you have a black carpet...just put a black sock around it or something and then it will never be visible...it seems like a lot of work to drill into the "glovebox"...but hey if you can do it successfully then i may actually do it too...since that was one of the ideas i had also...

Actually I think I can get around drilling anything in the glove box. After I remove the box I should be able to route the wire right next to the hinge at least that's what I'm hoping for. I haven't opened the box with the iPod cable yet, maybe I'll start taking apart the car on sunday so I can see if it'll work. At most I'm hoping to do a very very small amount of triming.

Well whatever I do, I'll post about it. If I can work on it sunday I'll at least try to run the iPod cable to the glovebox and see if it affects normal operation of the door if it'll even fit..

RXDI and I just installed the 9856 Apline with the IPOD cable in the glove box on my rio. We were able to get the cable in without any cutting or drilling. You can just pull on the door a little and you will get enough room to slide it in there. This is a sweet loaction for the IPOD.. It fits nice and snug underneath the strap.

Excellent that's exactly what I was hoping from looking at it.

FL05S2K:
To run the cable I plan to take out the center console and run it under it.

I'll take step by step pics for you when I install it.
