Good seeing you Shay! I will post a video in a bit of the Dakota howling tires around 6
The Man - The Myth - The Legend !
Shay - Here is your Dakota It really is amazing how a slower vehicle can be fast if properly driven - There were several Spec Miatas hanging with the P-cars in my run group, I lost count how many times I pointed by cars this weekend!
Shay: Thanks for the info on the bar. If I replace my newish S2K with an "old" S2K I'll have to take a look at the hard dog bar.
The ridgeline can tow a car on a dolly, not so sure about towing a steel car trailer with a car though.. maybe a featherlite open trailer and car.. but yeah I would avoid the ridgeline if towing were a requirement..
Nick - GREAT seeing you there. Thanks for posting the pic and I'll check out the video in a minute.
Let's see if I can recall some of the questions/comments....
Roll bar is from Hard Dog Fabrication out of Bethania, NC. Tom is the owner and a fantastic guy to deal with. I had them do the full install which took about 3 days. The install is so clean it looks stock IMO. Several others have commented the same after inspection. Hard Dog makes other S version including ones that don't have removable bars and those that require removing the OEM hoops. I wanted to keep all the stock goodies considering she is still more of a top down fun car than a tracker. That could change I guess but I doubt it. The more serious trackers might opt to gut part of the interior. Not an option for me at this point.
As Nick already commented...YES that truck passed plenty. It was a hoot seeing that thing come barreling down the track at you. That and the SRT-8 Cherokee that was just mean as heck considering it was an SUV that could haul most of the other cars to the track and race them out of the gate.
Here's a pic that was taken by a photographer that was there Saturday. Top was up. Too freaking cold. The funny thing is that it's easy to see the red Beemer behind me but look close...there's a car between us. I think it was a Miata or maybe the Extige. Not sure. If I recognize the turn correctly I would estimate we're doing about 75 - 80. Whatta blast.
