I don't think Homestead is dangerous. It is an FIA certified course if I remember right. There are some sections that a novice needs to watch, especially coming off the NASCAR banking. Otherwise its pretty tame.

Moroso however is garbage. Its very dangerous. No runoff, and some of the runoff thats there runs you off into water. Plus the surface on the track is absolute shit. I would never run a novice there.

i remember being at an SCCA event at Morroso about 12 years ago ... an experienced driver in a C4 corvette died on the back section. I'll try to dig up some info on it.

It's dangerous because of the walls. The first time I was there, 3 cars wrecked at a Chin event. The next time half the field went down (granted it was endurance club racing, but still). The track layout and such isn't all that dangerous, it's just that when something happens if too foten ends up with body damage.

Pretty safe, it's a club style course. You can get into trouble near the pit walls and pit out (that's going to be every track though) and you can get into trouble at the kink, best bet there is just DON'T LIFT

bandi: bah

Also Roebling Road is closer but I don't have contacts there, but we can piggy back with Chin there if he lets us, or another group easily enough.

Lets get something going in a few months and announce it on the boards and see how good of a turnout we get and proceed from there...

We prob shouldnt set this up around anytime close to the Dragon bc im sure people will be broke or saving up for it. maybe sometime mid-end of next year?!? sounds so far away! what do you guys think?
