Dave, what part of Moroso is the dangerous part? Coming into the infeild from the nascar banks? I felt VERY comfortable there in my civic and it was my first track day ever. although my instructor kept telling me to slow down or turn in at certain points on the back straight turning into the infield. I think it had to do with him racing a RWD car and im coming with a FWD, i knew the capabilities of my car and i never once even came close to breaking traction or sliding but my instructor was scared as shit...haha!

im assuming now that i own a RWD platform I could understand what he was talking about now...I cant wait to go back there to see the difference between cars!

You have done the job correctly if you make the turn, don't crash, and get the instructors panties all bunched up!

... GIR is not a full-out race track

but, i guess i was thinking to cater to most of the S2000's ... having a venue that is an SCCA capable course with only cones to slow it ... then pulling the cones could offer up just enough additional 'adventure'

i guess what i'm saying is that i'm 'chicken'. I'm more of an SCCA 'plus' enthusiast About 100mph on a road course is about the limit for me. Sorry.

Moroso? You sure you aren't talking about Homestead? (homestead is nascar)

The dangerous part is simply how close the walls are to the course. *If* you lose control there is a far greater likelyhood of hitting something hard. At tracks truely designed for club use you are generally surrounded by grass for a majority of the course and no walls except in the pit area or sections of the track where they are absolutely required.

i was only doing about 90mph on the front straight of homestead in my civic..haha. Im sure the s2k would get up to significantly faster speeds, which is why i cant wait!!!!

Im sure GIR is alot of fun, just not really a real track you know? kinda takes that fun away, drive a real track and you will see what i mean!

CMP is short enough to where you won't get much above that (if at all) anyways and can hold a good number of cars at the same time. And we might be able to get Turn 1 motorsports to give us our own rungroup if we get 20 cars or so.

Unfortunately, it's not in Florida..

I was about 6" from a S2000 in my GS-R coming off the back straight into the last infield section before the pit entrance.. he was slow and my prepped GS-R couldn't lift unless I wanted to spin into the nascar wall.. luckily I was able to slow down just enough.

He wrecked the S2K into a wall at turn 4 about 2 hours later at any rate.

Should i make some type of announcement/poll thread to see how many people we have interest nationally? Im willing to be there will be a ton of people waiting for something like this...

Or should i get a small group of organizers together first before announcing it over the whole forum?

Let's start by piggy-backing a Chin event, and if there is enough interest that carries, we can organize a larger event.
