This is a little dated, but it is a fairly inciteful description of how Michael Schumacher is so fast around corners. It is not that he breaks hard going into a corner and then is hard on the throttle at the exit. Rather he gradually lets off on the throttle going into a corner and then feathers the throttle while making infinitesimal inputs with the steering wheel through the corner. Pretty neat stuff:

Yeah...I've watched Ian Stewart drive very closely from the passenger seat and that is exactly what he does too. He is sawing at the steering wheel in the middle of turn correcting for oversteer that I haven't even felt yet.

By that someone who is faster than him, do you mean the guy with the e-mails from Pedro Del La Rosa discussing stolen confidential information about Ferrari's breaking system, fuel strategy and weight distribution...you mean the guy who drives for the team that had all of its Constructor's Points removed for this year and was fined $100,000,000.00 by the FIA for cheating?

There is no doubt that Schumacher has some black flags surrounding him, but neither he nor Ferrari ever did anything as damaging to the sport as McLaren and perhaps Alsonso did. For all the political intrigue that surrounds F1, one has to admit that it really dropped the hammer on McLaren so much so that it makes NASCAR's penalties doled out to its Billy-Bob's who cheat or violate rules pale in comparison

yeah i heard about all that, what a shame.

i cant wait till next year though, when the cars transform from 100 million dollar technological wonders... into 800lbs 800+hp 1600rpm beasts! (once they remove the abs, tcs, and all that stuff)

He got paid about $75,000,000.00 to $80,000,000.00 towards the end of his career for doing it. How much are you paid?
