SEATS HAVE BEEN LOWERED THANKS TO ALL
Well guys and gals... here is an update.. for those of you who missed my first thread, I was asking on what options I had to lower my drivers seat. After market rails, and DIY method is what are options are.
I saw the price tag $309 for each new aftermarket seat rail, and I said no way am I paying that to drop the seat an inch.
So today I pulled my seat out and followed the instructions on the thread that was posted a while back here it is :
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50658
Basically followed each step.... the only thing I did different was instead of using JB weld, to mount my new Nuts on over the old bracket mounting hole, I took the seat pan and new nuts to a trailer store, and had them spot weld them on for me... Two minutes later I was back home re-installing the seat. ALSO - the 13 copper rings I just used a needle nose plyer to pull off and then re-used them instead of buying new ones... all you have to do is bend them into a circle again.
Everything went well, after a little muscle was used to line up the bracket's holes to the chasis.
THE DIFFERENCE
The difference is def. noticable, I can now heel -toe alot better almost like I was able to in my ITR. I sit lower obviously now, and I have that go kart feeling, like being one with the car. I can also see the stop lights and dont have to duck... for some odd reason it actually makes getting out of the S for us taller folks easier. Dont ask me how or why, it just does.
Basically for $22 and change, a few hours work and concentration, a little sweat and elbow grease, I am now more deeply in love with the car and not to mention heel toeing is so much more easier and more fun.
If anyone in the orlando area would like to do this to there car and needs help, Ill lend a hand for free. I hope this helps, Just a follow up thread on the MOD so people can see how easy it really is. ENJOY
