Default Sound Meter

Well, I'm off work this week and am taking the plunge on mods for the car. Warranty is long over. Just got my Toda header back from Jet-Hot, 63mm T1R w/test pipe is sitting next to it, along with a VAFC + frog harness. The Comptech CAI is already in place under the hood.

I'm expecting a good deal more noise but I'm not really looking to have Invidia levels in the cabin (been there, done that; have the blisters in my ears to prove it...although it sounded great at 9k rpm). So, I also picked up some sound deadening material and plan on putting it down on the passenger side (good article: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=275932). Yes, I know it will add weight...but I will be closely tracking the weight I shed compared to what I put on so I can determine a net net.

I'd like to do a comparison to see how much louder than stock the car becomes after all mods are done. The butt dyno is always wrong...especially if that butt's wallet is lighter after the mod is done...so I expect my ears will pull the same trick.

Anyone in Jax have a decibel meter that can be used to get some empirical numbers?

I'm sure the local police department would be happy to assist you.

Zacksdad2 (scott) has one and I believe he said he got it from Radio Shack. He is down here in our neck of the woods though

If no one has one in Jax, purchasing one should not be too difficult. I also remember him saying it was not expensive at all.

maybe PM him and see if he can point you in the right direction

Well, it looks like theres something wrong with me. I dont think the Invidia is that loud inside the cabin. Maybe my ears are dead from working the flight deck on 4 aircraft carriers. Oh well. Ill ask my wifes dad if he has one you can use. He works for ciruit city. Ill Pm you later if you still need one.
