SPGP DISCUSSION THREAD
Here is my SPGP Slideshow for Day 1, (Thursday): SPGP Day 1 Slideshow
Besides driving Ryan Briscoe through the streets of St. Pete, I had a videographer from Indycar.com in the passenger seat. He filmed a little segment while we were on the way to the start of the Parade. His clip can be viewed here: Ryan Briscoe's VBlog from St. Pete
So, it was such a great time. For the most part, the rain held off as much as we could hope for. The people of St. Pete are such great race fans.
The after-parade event at Outback was the perfect place to get together. The Bloomin' Onion burger was awesome.
Besides losing my red Honda windshield decal on I-275, the ride home to Orlando couldn't have been any better. Cruisin' along I-4 with torrential rains with new Bridgestones was a blast. I have resurrected a banner from 2008 that will be my replacement decal for the weekend.
At midnight, I turned on the dvr only to see the 'Cuse get eliminated by Butler. Major bummer. Butler played awesome. I can not stop thinking that the outcome may have been different if our big guy, Onuaku was able to play.
Oh well, NOW I'M READY FOR SOME INDY. See y'all Saturday morning. Wish I could be at Hootie Hoo's tonight but, one can only have so much fun for a weekend. The Tampa Crew is great. Maybe I could be an auxiliary member?

Too cool. This is such a great event. Every year we all get stressed out around this time but then thursday night comes and fun starts. I am so glad they let us be part of this awesome event.
Thanks again to Rob and Shay for putting in countless hours to make this all happen. Words can not express the gratitude we all have to you both and those around you for making this happen.

Is there a roll out in the morning?
Details here Linky
However when we arrive on site we go to a staging area on 6th street and there may not be enough parking spaces beyond the 16.
You are welcome to roll with us you may just have to park in another area when you arrive on site.

Is anyone heading over in the AM? It's a day off for me so works out fine but probably not for most of you. Will our parking passes still be valid?
They said on the news they would not be charging admission and they would honor grandstand tickets form today
No treally sure what that means but I suspect it will be wide open. Also the paddock are should be wide open so we could possibly park just inside gate 8
the SS Minnow is still at the track. Lake got to the top of the step. About 3 feet deep
Obie, Jeremey and the rest of the S2ks parked behind us are glad they got out when they did......the cars would have been screwed
we will be down in the AM at the RV site...Around 8am
RV pavillion looks like a warzone. I talked to several of the RV guyts and they said that they usually pull out single file forward onto the pavement....that is our only option for removal....there is no way the ground behind will accept any weight. i will be surprised if the beast moves forward.
anyone off of work is welcome to come down at watch the race and/or help us dig out...LOL
I would assume all sunday tickets and passes will be good for tomorrow.
<---at home drying out
what a nightmare. I feel sooooo bad the parade and the race events were cancelled. Its like Zacksdad (scott) said though....This is what makes memories....
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING........YOU GUYS!!!!
I am going to eat some chocolate/peanut butter cups and find my happy place.......
LOL
Luv all you guys...thanks for toughing it out
