Throttle Position Sensor
So the other day I am driving and my Check Engine Light comes on. When I am coming to a stop or at a light, my rpms will decrease drastically, sometimes stalling the engine. I swung by AutoZone to have them run the computer and the code came up for a faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). I'll post the exact code later. None the less, I do some research and Honda wants you to buy the whole new throttle body in order to replace a damn sensor that they riveted on there.
Has anyone had this problem before? I have read that you can use the universal Honda TPS and fabricate a bracket and then adjust the voltage. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm not about to pay $600 for an entire throttle body when the part I need is only $30.
As of now, I want to get a 12-pack and try to use the step by step instructions I found on some forum and just try to replace the TPS. I'm also looking into junkyards to just get a whole throttle body for cheap.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

definitely hit the junkyards/classifieds first.
The civic's were the same way for many years (as were most Honda vehicles). There was such a demand created that I believe a company finally did start making just replacement sensors. The hardest part was removing the 'screws' holding the old sensor on. Most folks used a Dremel tool to 'slot' the screws so you could use a 'flat' screwdriver to take them off. I'm just not sure if you can buy just the TPS for the S2000 (or if it's shared with any other vehicle) I may have an RSX throttle body with a TPS out in the garage. Let me know if that will work.
Hope that helps.

BTW, the CEL code is P0122.
From what I have been reading, the TPS is univeral for all Hondas/Acuras EXCEPT the S2000 and the '88-'91 Civic/CRX... So I may take you up on that offer and see what I can do.
As far as the dremel, that is what I was told as well and shouldn't be an issue.
