average until you heat cycle them...

after that they are very very good. I'd say better than the Michelin PS2s. Great in the rain, just an expensive tire to drive to work with.

Auto-X 'em or Dragon 'em. you will be very happy.

Very nice tires. I was tossing up between the RE01-R's and the Kumho Ecsta MX's. The Kumho's are a lot cheaper and last longer, but simply do not have the nearly-track-tire level of grip offered by the Potenzas.

If the S isn't your daily, I say go for it.

I have the PS2s on my car . They have good traction . Had Potenzas on a 97 type SH Prelude and they where a bit loud not that an S2K rides quietly LOL

i've been checking for tires too ... here's what i've been on the fence about:

Front (225/45 17)
BFG G-f sport 109
Brdstn RE-01R 146
Dnlp Direzza Sp Z1 121
Kumho MX 114
Yoko AVS ES100 113
Falken Azenis 105

Rear (255/40 17)
BFG G-f sport 116
Brdstn RE-01R 206
Dnlp Direzza Sp Z1 148
Kumho MX 119
Yoko AVS ES100 118
Falken Azenis 130

Rear? (275/40 17)
BFG G-f sport 139
Kumho MX 141

Obviously the RE-01R's are the closest thing to an actual race tire.

I too am looking for a decent wear, daily driven tire that could also be fun enough for the occasional auto-X. I really do like my ES100's ... especially for the rain. But, i've heard pretty good things about most of these tires. Anyone wanna help me choose? I don't wanna leave it up to the 'Fat Man' (aka Santa)

RE01-Rs or the tire missing from your list: the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s. They are probably better for your use, the inside of the tire is a harder compound for daily driving, the outside remains uber sticky. Very Very good tires in the wet and on the Auto-X. Plus they don't wear out nearly as quickly as the RE01-Rs which will become my dedicated Auto-X tire from now on.

well ... i'm sure the Mich PS2's are a great tire ... but they are priced a little too high for me to justify them. I'm not saying they're not worth it as a performance tire ... but, for me to justify them they would have to be used ONLY on spirited weekend drives, HDS, or Auto-X's.

... unless you know where they are on SALE?!? Big Lots maybe? Or, Willie Gee's Big Rubber House?
