TSB convertible top
I know I should do a search but my connection is just a step up from dial up, when it is actually working.
I need some info. Any help would be appreciated.
Where can I find a copy of the TSB for the 200? to 200? convert. top tears?
Where can I find the number of people who have had a tear in their top through no fault of their own?
What is Honda's cure for it not happening again?
Are there any classaction suits regarding this problem and Hondas willingness to fix the problem?
What years have had this problem?
Thanks in advance, Richard

Here you go Richard. Hope this helps you out.
Its Steven from CFR SCCA BTW (I had the black Accord, I've got something a little better now
)Don't know of any real permanent cure, I think I'm just going to put a reinforcing panel and smooth out the bar, but I think that's all I can really do.
Some people get free tops, others have to pay 50%, a lot seems to depend on who you talk to. I would highly suggest using words like "design flaw" and "manufacturing defect".
The TSB should answer most of your other questions.
Good luck with the TSB, I tried to use this even told them it was a manufacture defect and flaw, but once the Service Manager saw the small hole I had, he disregarded the TSB so once the Regional Manager got there, they both were bias saying it was "cut".
Not only did they not inspect the small tear, they didn't read the TSB correctly and tried to do whatever they could not to pay for it or even remotely help. I tried this at a few different dealerships with the same response before contacting Honda of America directly with a complaint. It's been 7 months and still nothing.
Just a heads up, so good luck, if it works for you let me know!
havent heard many with much luck with this....

I hear that sometimes, then I hear of other dealerships that just do the top and have no complaints at all.
Good luck Richard, from what I hear if you pull up and the car is really clean and you suck up they will be nicer to you.
