No trouble after 2 years (I think... maybe 3)

I've even followed cops for miles without apparent notice.

I've got my front plate in the trunk in one of those lexan weathershield plate holders. The plate and holder are left over from an old car that died in a traffic mix-up, so it's pretty bashed up and obviously not mountable. I've only been asked about it once, and a look at the bracket was enough for the officer. He apparently did not notice the lack of holes in the front bumper. I'm moving to a state that does not require front plates (Mississippi) in a few weeks, so I've only got to get away with it for a few more weeks, and then it's moot.

got my first ticket ever for this a few weeks back in eureaka. But they were having a "time to fill the quota" day and had like 3 other people pulled over at the same time in the area. I am a little aprehensive about driving through there now, but I have gone by 4 or 5 eureaka cops without issue since.

Got a ticket last summer for no front plate... that's my only time since Oct 2006. Some cops really have nothing to do... Anyhow, it was like a $60 ticket... I'll pay that for running w/o a front plate for 1.5 years.

Got a warning for not having the front plate on the Explorer.

Not willing to risk the S getting any more attention than it already gets.

Why go plateless, other than photo ops?
