Thumbs up Magnetic Drain Plugs

I was thinking of buying aftermarket magnetic diff, tranny, and maybe engine drain plugs when I found a post that says the Honda drain plugs are already magnetic ... if that's the case, why do they make aftermarket ones & are they worth buying?

Can anyone confirm if the Honda drain plugs are magnetic? Not to mention: what in the engine/drivetrain has iron content to make it magnetic?

The Diff frain plug IS magnetic - you will see this when you change out the gear oil as ther will be black shit all over the magnetic tip. As for the ohters, I don't think they are magnetic. I know Mugen makes one for the engine.

I beleive the Diff is a mechnaical type, as opposed to a clutch pack diff. Anyone else know if this is true?

Yes. The MY02 rear diff plus IS magnetic. I don't recall if the trans plug was, though.
