Default My car

Ok, so my 01 now with 25k is making a ticking noise, i think its the injectors but im not sure, i was wondering if i could meet up with someone and listen to your car at idle to check on the noise...I would like to do it before we take a group drive so i just might be able to get a valve adjust tomorrow before the group drive if it is needed. if anyone could do so I would appreciate it VERY MUCH!!!! I am off work at 5 and could meet anywhere.

I could meet you, but have and '05 with 35,000 miles. I probably won't be much help in diagnosing the problem, but you can listen to my car. My guess would be the valves, as you are getting close to 30K.

A good person to ask who lives in St. Charles would be Hydracyl (Greg). He knows a lot about cars. He works out at Club Fitness on 94. I will be up there around 7:30pm tonight and he is usually up there around the same time. If he is I'll grab him and we can listen to your car.

I'll be parked on the side parking lot near the vet's office. Let me know if you want to meet and a time you will be there and I will look for you.

need more information.

Define ticking?

Does it tick when in park or only when moving?
Is it a high pitched or low pitch tick?
How many times per second does it occur?
Does it happen all the time or just some time (engine hot and/or cold) does the sound go away?
When was the last time you did an oil change? Oil level low?
Does you oil stick pop out?
Are you sure it's you valve?
Have you over reved or hit the rev-limiter latley?

Ticking can happen in a lot of different places in the engine bay. Could be something as simple as your heat shield or Low oil or as complex as an issue with you valve.

If this only happens when your engine is cold, it's probably normal as a lot of drivers have reported this problem.

Do a search in Under the hood and search for ticking. It may give you some ideas of what to look for.

I did the search and found so many different ticking that im not expierenced enough to tell a difference. It ticks at idle, i havent done too many troubleshooting problems as i always consider it normal being as my focus makes the same ticking, but after reading through some threads some concerns have arised...need my peace if mind thats it a honda back.......i would say high pitched ticking, a tick per second if not more....anytime its started both warn and cold temps, always ticks....oil changed about 2500 miles ago, oil level is good....dipstick stays in at all times....im not sure its the valve i was actually thinkn injectors, thats y i am wanting to compare with someone elses car. havent been over redline except once and it was just barely, that was when i first got the car and didnt know how fast it jumped to 9k rpm's.

If you would like, you can stop by my house this evening and compare. I can also take a look. I'll be home by around 3:30, so anytime after that is fine, but before 7:00 please. I'll PM you directions to the house in a few minutes.
