You are correct, but it sounds like 8ball is your man.

Good Luck...

That's fine with me. Like I said I won't be much help in diagnosing, but if you drive through the parking lot and you see 2 Silverstone AP2s then Greg is there and I can grab him.

...or he might drive a Red Dodge Neon SRT with a "100" sticker on both side windows...either way thats him. He clayed his S2000 last saturday and I do not think he has waxed yet, so he may still not be driving it.

If you come by ask the front desk to page Ben Gilbertsen.
I might be there, Thanks Ben!!

Sounds like we need a mini meet tonight.

I'm betting on a valve adjustment. I haven't done one on a S2K yet but I would be happy to do it for ya

we should do a mini meet, that would be pretty cool!!! I was supposed to join for detail day but got held at the office on my way out......have you done valve adjustments before? If you feel confident I would be honored for you to do it.

also, Keith, assuming it is a problem having something to do with a valve adjust, what parts do i need, just a valve cover gasket and tools?

Just an FYI... Valve Adjustment is usually something the dealer will check for at you 30K service. A full 30k service with valve adjustment and cabin filter change is over $400!!!

I did not have the valves adjusted on mine because they were not knocking and you get hosed on the labor. Also I was under the assumption that the cabin filter is a tedious process that takes a lot of labor(removing the dash etc.). I had the dealer the service and it is well over $100 alone to replace that filter at the dealer. I recently found out it's a very easy replacement you can do yourself in 10 minutes.

Point of the story...you are almost due for 30k service and it sounds like you can get off doing it very cheap if you replace the cabin filter yourself and have Keith adjust the valves.

Lucky you!

I've done a couple things before (not S2K specific yet)...

My list of jobs include most Prelude stuff;

- Swapped motors twice (mine and STLPC club member)
- Adjust valves on a H22A1, H22A4, H22A, H23 and B18 (LS and Type-R motor)
- Oil, Brake, Coolant, Tranny fluid changes.
- Suspension swaps on 4th - 5th Preludes, DC2 Integras, E46 BMW, AP1 S2000
- Swapped heads on H22 and H23 motors.
- Replaced Oil Pump on H22.
- Timing belt change on H22, H23, B18.
- Changed brake lines, calipers, pads, rotors.
- Installed intake manifold gaskets, throttle bodies.
- Done exhaust, header and test pipe installations...
- Installed and tuned VAFC.

... and a bunch of other stuff.. too much to mention... I usually document most of my work with pictures located here -> http://www.chillybanana.com/Prelude/ but I've been slacking lately. I'm eager to do more S2K work. I have a Helms... it can't be too hard .
