Valvoline stripped my oil pan threading

i looked here in the first place but couldnt find it, maybe i was looking in the wrong section

does the motor have to come out for this to be installed or anything special ?

No they are not

This was done about 2 years ago, and by the time i noticed it leaking, i thought it was possibly a rear main seal or something, so i had my mechanic check the plug

So by pulling the drain plug out after that oil change, i basically voided any chance i had at getting it replaced. I tried calling up there, but dealing with the manager gave me a good indication as to how corporate was going to treat me, so i left it alone

 

You should be able to do this without removing the motor.
