Default Someone with Subs

Hello,

I need a sub box. What kind do you guys use? I know I want the type that sits where the jack is but I do not know what brand is good and what is not.

Has anyone built a box? If so do you still have the plans? I do not have the expierence(sp??) to make a fiberglass one, the one listed in the "One stop shop".

Edit:Anyone know how to figure Cubic Air Space?

Type: sub box into the Search and it will bring up a bunch of different ones

JulieU should know where our sub box DIY is. One of the_DZA built an MDF one

If you really want thump in the trunk, I'd go with the big box mounted where tire tools go.

I wasn't willing to sacrifice that space so I went with two 8" RF HEs in a set of Version 1 enclosures made by darksidesubs.com. I almost had the boxes cut to fit 10s but decided to stick with the 8s due to lack of airspace. I'm satisfied with it for now... I can definitely hear the thump with the top down at highway speeds, but I'd really like more thump so eventually will upgrade to a single 12" shallow-mount sub, but where to mount it is the problem.

Alternative and maybe easier to build. I built the one on the far right, but all will work

Took me about 2 hours and am really happy with it. Looked like this when complete

Nope, never thought about that. More info please! I was kinda leaning towards getting rid of the spare whenever I upgrade wheels and putting it in there somehow.
