Hello everyone --

I hope that all of you are enjoying your fine automobiles, and I hope that all of you are getting in some track time!

the Atlanta Boxster Club would like to remind everyone of our up coming events!

Sunday August 12th
ABC has teamed up with Chin Motor Sports to offer a DE at Atlanta Motor Speedway

This event only has 37 openings left.
The cost is $225 (plus $40 to join CHM) -- Should be a great time

Saturday and Sunday September 15 and 16
ABC Drivers Education at Carolina Motorsports Park Limit 60 cars!
Cost $300 ABC members $350 for non members
this will be a DE with 3 groups
Group 1 - Beginners (who will have classroom instruction and will have instructors in the car with them)
Group 2 - Solo advanced drivers --
Group 3 - Instructors --

Saturday October 6th

Petite LeMans Road Atlanta -- We will have a cookout (we are looking into getting a tent) at the track (more info to follow)

Sunday October 7th

Petite LeMans Mountain Drive --

Our biggest Drive of the year we will be meeting at 8 am at tooies at the END of GA 400
we will go up into the mountains and have a great day!

Saturday and Sunday January 12th and 13th 2002
Road Atlanta DE - We will hold our first DE of 2002 -- it will also be our first DE at Road Atlanta -- Limit 60 cars you will have 2.5 -3 hours track time each day -- cost $400 (includes catered lunch each day and Social on Saturday night)

Group 1 - Beginners (who will have classroom instruction and will have instructors in the car with them)
Group 2 - Solo advanced drivers --
Group 3 - Instructors --
October 12-13, 2002
Sebring DE

We will offer our first DE at Sebring, FL-- we will be using the 12 hour course. We will be holding our usual 3 groups and limiting it to 60 cars!

More info in the coming months! we are trying to set up our first AutoX SOON!!!

for the ABC evnets (CMP, RA, and Sebring) the S2000Members do not have to pay to join ABC -- But they must add one time fee of $5.95 for there insurance (this is the cost to the club per member)

I was at RA this weekend at the track days and I saw 2 S2000's running - it will be nice to see more at the track --

What -- Driver Education

How many -- 4 groups of 15 cars (One more group than on my last e-mail)
Group 1 Novice drivers (NO DE experience) -- with instructor all weekend
Group 2 Intermediate Drivers (some DE experience) Instructor day one -- chance to solo on day 2 (with Instructor approval)
Group 3 Solo and Instructors
Group 4 Instructors
Track time -- Between 2.5 to 3 hours each day
First, come first taken! -- Limited to 4 groups of 15!
Requirements:
A willingness to learn and listen to other people to help you become a better SAFER Driver --
SA 95 or newer Helmet -Long sleeve, long pants and closed toe shoes
Price $300.00 for both days per driver -- 2 driver cars are allowed!-
INSTRUCTORS RECEIVE $150.00 Discount - $150.00 for the event

Group one and 2 drivers will spend some time in the classroom

We are a new club everyone will do their first run with an instructor to insure they have as much experience they write on their entry form.

So I have heard nothing from the S2000 guys's the CMP event is filling up... Who is in?

I would love join the DE on Aug 12, but I am traveling on that day. But I think I can make on the drive on the 11th! The last one was a blast.

SMH, odd you haven't had much of a response from S2000 owners. For the drive, maybe the weather is just getting to hot or everyone is busy with vacations before school starts back up.

As for the August 12th track event, I'll be there but not enrolled in any classes.
