The Dragon.
Well, last minute is understood, but some folks are stating they are going, registered or not.
I never stated that they could not talk to other folks.
I simply asked a question on how they think that will work out?
If the Atlanta crew put on an event and prepared with registations, instructions, etc. How would I be welcomed to simply show up?
Especially if I posted that I was going registered or not?
Sure, the Dragon is a public road, but the events are for S2000's. 80 folks followed the instructions and registered for the event. Many who even live 20 minutes from the Dragon. Obviously, they see the value in registering.
There are costs associated with any event. The Pavilion at Fontana Dam has been reserved for our lunch on Saturday. We paid for this priveledge. Lunch is a coordinated effort (especially being 30 miles away) and delivered to hungry S2000 owners at the Pavilion. T-shirts, magnets and event packets provide memorabilia to an event that (so far) 80+ owners have sent in registrations and payments to participate in.
And those are simply the "seen" plans of the event. How about the Car Wash area, reserved parking for the group, the driver's meeting, raffle giveaway later that night and more? Not worth the time to register?

Damn Jesse. Type to me like we've never met before.
You took the words I typed and made your own interpretation. Hey, it's a public roadway, anyone can come. But we have always kept the events with registrations for ease of planning.
Why else does an event go smoothly? Folks are driving from afar to participate in a legendary roadway that is ideal for our S2000's. In the same weekend, they'll see lots of S2000's, different modifications, owners and fellow enthusiasts! The experience is not only ON the Dragon, but in the breakfast at the hotel, driving to the Dragon, lunch at the Pavilion and the dinner to follow. For sure, it's an event to remember.
If folks choose not to register and simply "show up" then we would not have an event, it would be more like a meet and no organization could be applied because we have no idea how many folks are coming and what the logistics of our drive and so on would be. You would have folks who DID pay and register on time with folks who simply "showed up." Is that fair to them? Me? The S2000 Community? By having registered participants, it allows us to gain better pricing on hotel rooms, custom t-shirts, magnets and event packets which makes our annual get togethers envied by other car clubs and organizations.
It's funny that an Atlanta owner took advantage of the group rate, but did not register for the event. If you don't want to register for the event, why stay at the event hotel?
This is sad because I always believed to have good relations with the Atlanta folks and now it seems that was never so. Very sad.
If you want to attend, go ahead. I don't care anymore. I ahve 80+ S2000's attending and they are more than enough to keep me motivated about planning and executing these events.

You're missing my point.
I totally agree with your organizing and the registration process and the reason behind it.
If I don't register and something opens up and I can come that weekend you've made it seem and feel as if I shouldn't come and that's what I think sucks.
As far as good relations with the Atlanta folks are concerned I started questioning that after the last Dragon event anyway.

As for the comment on the last Dragon (DragonBall Run 3), what happened?
