Right. I really am sorry that happened. But what does that have to do with the event?

I agree with Jesse on this one.

As of right now, it doesn't look like I will be able to make it to this. If for some reason I catch a break at work, I'm there.

...and yes the Atlanta group was a little upset at the lack of support after the incident with Doc T

We missed out on all the fancy door prizes and what not, because we were at the hospital with one of our members. When we got to dinner, there was kind of a vibe in the air. It sucked!!

I agree with Jesse as well.I do not think I am not alone in my position that due to extinuating circumstances , I just cannot commit.Would you rather me send the money anyway then ask for a refund if unable to make it? What would that do to your ability to plan? Is there a refund policy?should I just stay home and miss the event?

No need to answer.

I'm with Jesse too. I'm sorry Raul, but Dr. T was a registered member for the past event. Most of the Atlanta contingent was. While we were at the hospital, we missed the scheduled time for dinner. Because we weren't present at the scheduled time, we were excluded from winning door prizes. We almost had to pay for our own dinners even though we had previously bought them through the registration fee we paid. The Atlanta club is good at sticking together, and that's why we wanted to be there for Dr. T. But, as a result, we felt somewhat shunned for what happened, which again, was an ACCIDENT. I think I speak for most (Atlanta members) when I say it put a bad taste in our mouth's for any upcoming Dragon events.

Lack of support? What did you want to happen? Postpone dinner and the raffle? If the point of the event was to drive, why was the dinner and raffle so important to you? I think you did what any close group would have done and that is support one of your own. No shame in that, but no glory in advertising the fact either.

I hate for anything to happen to anyone at any event. We can't expect everyone to understand the situation. Imagine what some folks would have thought if the dinner and raffle was delayed? Unfortunately you can't make everyone happy, something I learned with the very 1st DragonBall Run event. But my goal is 98% and I think the events deliver that.

So the issue is not necessarily the uncertainty of attending, it's this shadow-like resentment? C'mon, we all drive the same cars, let's enjoy the roads and have some fun. That IS the purpose of the event, afterall.

Drama sucks.

I am usually the last person to get involved in these little arguments, but as the "reason" for the issue coming up I feel the need to put a couple of cents into the discussion...

Yep, I could register but if I don't make it can I get a refund?

Also, I'm planning on sharing the room with another person who did register so even if I don't make it the room is still being used by a "registered" participant.

PS - After seeing the picture of Doctor T's car I'm having second thoughts about going anyway.

I am going to chime in here. The past is the past. I am sorry about what had happened to Dr. T and if it was me I would want to be taken care of like the Atlanta group did with Doc. We stuck this one together and I thought it was pretty cool. But can we should let this whole situation go. I am not one to hold a grudge against anyone and know that everyone in the group are stand-up guys. The past is the past and the Atlanta group will always stick together when in need. I hope I didn't upset anyone.

After reading this post in the Dragonball Run forum I'll probably not go:

S2K Dude, you are not registered for the event (Wake the Dragon) so you are unable to have your rooms at the discounted "event-only" price. If you plan on attending this event, please contact me so we can discuss.
