Default Help!

My e-brake seems to not work very well. The other day in a drive-thru I put the e-brake on but forgot it was on; the car drove forward to the window with what felt like only a minor grip power in the rear. I was wondering if anyone could help or might know what would cause this?

Thanks,
Timothy

A while back, I researched this a little because my e-brake is also weak and I believed the e-brake cable to be loose.

I know one can find DIY for adjusting the cable but I did not run across one on the S. Also, I've read that sometimes adjustments in slack must be made "back to front" or from earlier points in the mechanism? (I know, vague...). Hope someone else can provide a better answer for you Tim since my S knowledge is so limited!

You may need to pull the ebrake up a little more or adjust the cable. Check out your Service Manual.

I don't think they work very well on s2000's
I have to yank mine up nearly vertical if I'm parked on a hill or something

Thanks Dan. I was thinking I do not use it that much anyway. I might just need a brake job front and back.

I had to adjust mine on the prelude a few times.. it was fairly easy. I'm not too sure on S... I don't use my parking brake unless im putting the top up/down.

How are your brake pads? If the cable is not completely loose you may need adjustment. As your brake pads wear out the emergency cable develops more play(lag)
