i never launch or take hard corner. maybe thats why,
kd4yor, expect to go through tires on this car. I got around 8500 miles on my first set of rears. Treadwear rating is only 140! You see all that black dust on the back of your car? That's your tires! If your hard on the tires they won't last 8500 miles. If you do mostly highway miles they'll last 12,000 or more. I believe Modifry holds the record for milage on a set of rears, something like 30,000+ miles
.
Unless the car was seriously out of alignment/adjustment or something was actually wrong with the suspension (check for spring spacers) I don't think Honda would help you out on tires. If you have any doubts, go see the Service Manager at Honda Carland in Roswell. He sees lots of S2000's and will give you a straight answer if he thinks something is wrong.

kd4yor,
when you are ready to purchase those replacement rears, check out TireRack. I had excellent results with their recommended installer and their price beat everyone local in Atlanta.

kd4yor, going to Tirerack and then having a Tirerack recommended installer put them on is a good way to go. I've heard that Butler tire does a really fine job. Another alternative is to go to Tires Plus. The store near me on Sugarloaf will match Tirerack prices and they'll sell you road hazard also.

Don't be reluctant to consider other tires. I have 245/45 AVS Sports and like them better. Lots of people are successfully using alternatives that provide great grip, better feedback, and more mileage.
