Terminating RCA type connectors is pretty easy. I use to do my own for car audio projects.

is it any difference terminating component? or are they the same as RCA. I need to use gold connectors or something, right.

and is there a component cable splitter? I want two tvs to show the same thing off of one box

When Aaron spoke of RCA connections, he is referring to putting a "banana plug" on the end of any given wire. Since component consists of 3 lines sending info, you would need to make 3 connections versus one for a composite line. The connections are made the same way.

And yes, you'd simply split after it leaves the box and before it reaches the monitor.

I found this on eBay, but there should be a better way, although I'm not sure if something other than this is a good way to go because you're going to lose signal strength.
