Jeff, I like the concept of the soundbars a lot.

I had bought the Philips for my condo, but it just didn't do what I wanted it to; HDMI switching so I could wall mount the LCD, it didn't have enough inputs for all my crap, the DVD player actually arrived broken, etc...

I thought really long and hard about getting the Yamaha sound bar to go with my receiver, but with already owning the Boston Acoustics setup I just brought that up from my parents' place.
Your system is disgusting... In a good way. Shame to waste on the wee lil condo you got.

All I want is something better than the crappy speakers in the TV. I think this will do the trick. I admit that the iPod thing is cool and I will use it but that is so not why I am buying. It is all about the price point this time.

I also had the opportunity to check out the Yamaha recently in a condo in my building. It was very, very nice but $$$....
Such is the way with Home Theater. The stuff that is actually worth the investment really IS an investment.

Glad I'm not the only one with 3.1, though.

I just don't have anywhere to put the rear channels in my place.
