Remember the pot kid I was talking about the other day? I learned more... Turns out the kid was a student at The Langley School (a VERY swanky private academy) before he was a student of the McLean PUBLIC schools. He was given the boot by Langley for smoking pot IN SCHOOL.
He was about to be kicked out of the public schools because the smelled pot on him and subsequently found pot in his car parked on school property.
my co-worker's wife is a functioning alcoholic - they have 2 sons. The older son went to a public school & is now @ a Wesleyan college & getting ready to transfer to Cincinnati. The younger one is in a "swanky" private school & gets into all kinds of trouble - underage drinking, public intoxication, tested for marijuana twice already...

i find that when kids are given everything, it tends to lead them on the wrong path. myself included.

I disagree - the same thing happens to those who have nothing - then get rich & waste it all >insert pro athlete of your choice here<

But......The way is use to be valued (don't know if it's the same today) is on a different level. Their values/morales are different than here.

Thats different. People who start out with nothing and then get everything dont know what to do with it. People who get whatever they want from the day they are born just exspect to have everything taken care of.
