hey now, share the wealth.

I could always use some as I don't have any of my own. I'd be willing to split it with Pointy if he has a need for it...

I figured you had all you needed. I'm not sure what's still laying around here, I'll have to check the storage rooms. We did a few photo shoots for ads and the owner's son has a degree in film and I know he shot his senior project movie here in the office because they set off the fire alarm and the fire department had to come in at 2 am.

Thought some of you Canon guys might like this ... Dell has 15% off certain Canon lenses and there's a few extra coupons too making some lenses very attractive price wise :

That's niiioce

Especially the 17-40L. Too bad I'm locked out of buying power till next month - but I did add another lens to the quiver: 16mm Zentiar Fisheye for $130. Figured the fisheye was something I would barely use, so why get the $500+ versions.

Xmas did me well

Got money toward B&H and I did some exhaustive research on lenses. I discovered a great site on Canon lenses/accessories: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/ & http://www.photozone.de/8Reviews/index.html

I wanted to start with a decent walkaround lens that can handle low light and a wide zoom lens I could get without a hefty price tag (make my money go as far as possible ). Through research on those two sites plus the FM Forums I decided and purchased a few minutes ago:
The debate was on the 12-24 vs. the Canon 17-40L. On the FM forums there doesn't seem to be much difference between the picture quality of the two lenses. Seeing as how most of my wide needs are going to be mostly of cars (easy stuff) and the fact that I have a 1.6 crop factor I decided that the wider the lens the better and the $200 savings between the Canon and Tokina were worth it.

The other debate was between the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 vs. the Canon 28-135 f3.5-5.6 IS and after reading mixed reviews on shooting in IS mode (main reason for getting that Canon) I was swayed toward the Tamron. The Tamron can also hold f2.8 throughout the whole focal range, and is not only cheaper but it is also in stock.

The woman got me a kick-ass SLR back pack and is picking a Canon 100mm Macro up for me, so I'll be filling my telephoto niche up with a Canon 70-200 f4L to take advantage of the Triple rebates (Camera + 2 lenses) before January 15th. I think I'll have a pretty decent arsenal then and will start going after accessories after that (flashes, monopod, etc.).

So here's what I'm looking like:

Chris and LiQiCe - what lenses do you both have?
