I've got the Orange Box on PC and I give it two

I played the original TF Quake mod back in "the day" too and have super fond memories TF2 is just as fun and frankly the "Disney Pixar" look of the the characters and levels is a lot of fun too.

Portal is AWESOME and while it is wayyyy too short (it's really more of a technology demo than a game) the potential that it has is boundless. It is probably one of the most creative and innovative things to happen to FPS in a long, long time.

Definitely worth the buy in my mind even if you've playd HL2. It goes without saying that HL2 was a fantastic game (I only played the demo and didn't have time to play the whole game, but I plan on going back and playing through the whole thing now that I have OB).

 

As for R6 being hard, I really put it in a different class of FPS. It's much more strategic and realistic (at least when I played the original Rainbow 6). I really liked the first game (haven't played Vegas, but plan to get Vegas 2) and the realism it brought with you pretty much getting hosed if you got hit.

I do remember it being tough though and not as much run-and-gun.

 

crap. I have to try this then. I just couldn't justify the purchase as I, like you said, already have HL2 when it was released on PC.

So didn't want to rebuy the game just for the additions. I'll look for a used copy

Does TF2 have 2forts map?

As for R6.. I definitely agree.. much different.. have to really use your mates and take it slow.. planning. Only have to run and gun in hostage situations. You shouldn't skip vegas though to wait for 2.. vegas is VERY fun online and off (personally I didn't care much for previous R6 installments).

 

I was a big fan of Ghost Recon on PC. I really enjoyed all three versions... I had just forgotten how tough it really is. Call it whatever you want, "realistic," stratgic, etc... That is what is giving me grief. Especially since I just finished Halo 3. Definitely NOT Run and Gun.

The thing that is really is the lack of the ability to jump or climb. I HATE the fact that I am held up/caught up by little rocks on the road. Something that I think I should "realistically" be able to walk right over totally blocks my way. It is almost like I am in a wheel chair. Handicap ramps FTL.

 

I am going to GameStop tonight.

I honestly just want it for Portal. Too bad it is so small. Hopefully Valve will expand it into something new.

 

I highly suggest you get R6 Vegas. Well worth it. Can't speak as to how good R6V2 will be, but the original is top notch!
