It's a new front end GUI for the 360 (NXE = New Xbox Experience). Just logon to Xbox Live and you'll download it.

It's different. I personally liked some things about the old gui, it was more clear and concise. The newer one is more watered down. I always feel like I have to search for something to find it.

I also quickly removed the Welcome Channel.

How else do you find somethign. you can't just hope and it end up in your lap.

The new one isn't watered down. You're just not used to it yet. everything is tehre that used to be there. just a different layout.

If you go up to the Friends label you have to cycle through each one to see what everyone is doing. Or I can just press the Guide button and look at it the old way.

well how often are you on the dashboard looking at what your friends are doing?? Only time i really see the dashboard is when i'm switching games or changing settings. otherwise it boots straight to the game.

i have it setup to boot to the dashboard. i always see who's on and what they're playing. during the game, if someone signs on or we have a break in the game, i'll check and see who's on
