thanks for the tip, aaron. I picked up a few HD's that I'd been putting off
b&n was the easier route - I didn't feel like going into the store and all of the discs I wanted were Universal, apparently (the ones on sale 1/2 off).

I just got an email from Netflix saying that they are discontinuing HD-DVD rentals in several month. They will not be adding new HD-DVDs or replacing damaged ones.
Looks like the tide truly has turned.

Only a few more nails in the coffin to pound out and this war will be over.

Sooo.. anyone wanna buy my HD-DVD player?

I still have a freakin' laserdisc player that mostly works. I break it out now and again.

And a minidisc recorder that works... I use it for recording. Amazing, I know.
Oh, and a Mac Plus (circa 1986) that ... STILL WORKS ... Fun for nostalgic games of Putt Putt

It all still works.
I know you're kidding but it's like saying "oh shit, they stopped making the S2000, I better sell it now before it stops working completely!" and it's the same thing I keep reading all over the net... like it has no value. Like there aren't more movies available for HD-DVD than you'd ever buy anyway... Like it can't upconvert SD like a champ or your life depends on it... Beta died before there WAS a home movie market. I've already got a bunch of EXCELLENT movies on HD-DVD and no intention of throwing them out because the format will die off

I'm actually asking for about 120 with 3 HD-DVDs. So 100 + shipping would be doable
Hehe, actually I'm not selling due to the format wars, I'm only selling to clean out the house as I will be leaving the country
Sold off all my game consoles, saturn, dreamcast, n64, ps1, xbox, etc.. which I had hoped to keep. But the time has come
Same reason why my car and bike are for sale too
