Yes, and it's only $700 (from what I last saw/read), it going to undercut both the HD and blu-ray players.

From what I understand HD-DVD is going to disappear in the next few years and blu-ray is going to take the lead in High Def DVD format due to the movie companies backing blu-ray more than HD-DVD. Also I have heard the adult film (damn censored words) industry is a big player in this decision and they are supporting blu-ray (the majority). Apparently Sony is in talks with Toshiba and NEC (Makers of HD-DVD) to buy them out, but I doubt its going to happen with the setbacks Sony has taken financially because of PS3 and the enormous battery recalls. I am personally interested to see which format Lucas Arts picks for their Star Wars HD versions when they release later this year.

I thought the adult industry was all about HD-DVD because the startup costs are cheaper.

From what I have read one of the biggest companies that the adult film industry represents sided with blu-ray and the rest followed suit knowing how big of a role they played, I forget the name of the company. It was more like side with us now and we wont drown your ass later, kinda the whole peter pan line thing. They went with blu-ray, then again there is that 1% chance i could be wrong.
