I have been thinking very hard about this, and wanted my friends to give me their input and thoughts. I know this will be hard, tons of work, fear, screwups, but in my opinion... FUN.
GTM Supercar
I would want the LS7 engine for sure, and a few other fun options. But in my opinion this is one Mutha Fking Sexy badass automobile. With a few exceptions, I can build the whole car in my garage. 12 months+, paint will be done by the best, and I would budget 10,000 for paint, chrome, etc.
thinking about chrome for the whole chassis, and a few pieces on the engine, but not toooooo much. About $75-80,000.00 total budget.
Ideas are welcomed. I should make this decision in the next couple months. At my age the question is Lotus, Viper, others ...buy turn key and go go go OR spend a year of hard sweat and tears, but have the pride and comfort of knowing I did this myself? And maybe a few of you guys would want to help turn a wrench or two????
Tony????
Mark
I have to tell ya Mark, putting together a car yourself is a very frustrating/ enjoyable experience. I have personally restored 2 cars, a '57 Chevy and a '41 ford and know how tough it is. I have also been on the flip side of buying a car already done.
Personally I would buy a car that you can jump in right away and then make changes to it.... perhaps you can find one of these at 80 or 90% complete.
Either way, its a sweet car
On a side note, if you want to be pimp. I know where you can get a Gallardo for $20k down and $1800 a month

Hey Chris
I agree the Gallardo is sweet, but I swear the Supercar has better lines, and the performance is incredible. Quicker to 60-120mph than a Diablo.
Restoring cars can be harder, I have done four in my younger days, but yeah, something to consider. I even thought about paying someone to do the work. But I believe I can handle this job...assuming my damn neck gets better soon. My only concern is getting back to pain free days, so I can go out in my new car and wear out all my other parts.

Just read more about it, wouldnt mind looking at the manual as well but other than farming out the paint and a few other things it doesnt look to bad.
The fun will be getting the Ls7 and all of its computers! Then wedging it in
Still a very awesome car!
