Default Driving with no bumper

Is it illegal to drive around with no front "bumper cover?"
I'll have the license plate mounted to the actual metal bumper.
Does anyone know how the law interprets this? Since the plastic bumper is very much for aesthetic purposes-well for the most part.
Thanks.

It may or may not, but one thing for sure is that you'll look more attractive to get pulled over for other things that may not be legal on on your S.
