so i emailed Pauter because i wanted to buy Ti rods for the engine i am building. standard pauter rods for a 4 cylinder run $780 or so for a set of 4.
i thought how much could Ti rods be maybe double the cost of steel? and almost no one lists the cost due to the shortage of certified Ti in america. so i got my reply today and
here is what they said:


Current price for a set of 4 rods in titanium is $4720.00 (down from $5400.00) All titanium orders must be prepaid and they take about 12 weeks to manufacture.

so the idea went down the hole i think even if i had the money i would just buy a c-west gt-prototype hood.

at least the price is DOWN. lol, you're gonna build the whole motor for that price.

You could buy the material your self and pay a good machinest to make them for you for a fraction of the price...

i would think it would cost the same or more because the machinist would have to set up to make the rods where as pauter is already set up to do so.

Yeah, I'm sure you are right. That is a pretty insane price for conn rods, I wonder how many sets they have sold..
