How does everyone have their safety check on? On their bumper? I don't want to put them on my bumper, but nor do I want to drill into the bumper to attach a plate

i flipped the saftey check plate and double sided taped the bottom of the drilling surface to the inside lip of the 08 wide.
it's a bit recessed but definitely in plain sight and left of the exhaust.

Supposedly all metal brackets are not considered legal, and all safety check places are telling people it needs to be on the bumper. They're cracking down on that recently

Damn, how recent? I got my recon sticker on a metal bracket some years back and they didnt mind. All they cared about was i placed it nearest to the right. The inspector himself stuck it on the metal bracket for me. Been that way ever since.

started this year, had a friend get safety check and this place told them they needed to remove the metal brackets off the car.

which is weird because Bryan just got his Fit and the dealer put a metal plate next to the license plate. i'm sure it's not being enforced by HPD as harsh as having no Recon but I've heard you'll get cited for it if you get pulled over

My brothers getting a fit today. and i think they're putting it on a bracket as well.

I wonder if I can just play dumb.. though everyone probably does. Where can you get a bracket that goes next to the plate? Or should I just make one myself o.0? fk, i dont even have my front plate, i lost it

As of this year you can run any steel plate for safety sticker as long as its on the right side of license plate. Can also now run plate that bolts to the right side of license plate. This is a fact. I know because I have my safety inspection license. Before only plate mounted on bumper to the right of license plate could be used. Now you can use either one

wow that's interesting to know. i just got my safety in feb and they told me that as well. again it's just one of those things where "dealer" mods are "ok" vs "end user mods" are not. too many variables...they should just get rid of the safety check system all together.

when i was going to college all we needed was to pay our registration. the police would pull you over if say your lights were out etc. you will get a warning. then on the second pull over you will get a 15 dollar fix it ticket. i see less missing rear lights out there then here, and we have this safety check setup!!!
