Possibly Taking a Job in Kauai
I have the opportunity of taking a position in Kauai soon, and I haven't been able to find much information about the area. I noticed housing is pretty expensive, but I'm from DC so its not much of a shock. What are the best areas of Kauai and what's it like living there? I'm pretty excited about this, but I really know nothing about Hawaii.

kauai is a beautiful island although pretty small. kauai is home to the breathtaking Waimea Canyon (coined the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"). its great if you're into nature and are ready for a more laid back life style. be wary however, life in DC is a WAY more fast paced than Hawaii. if you're into bar hopping and going out you will be very easily bored on kauai. yes housing rates are skyrocketing there, but thats the price you pay to live in paradise. let me know if you have any more questions and good luck with the transition! Aloha!
