go to settings -> system settings, the version info is there.

yea u can. mine's a jdm one also. did you ever upgrade the firmware? the earlier japan ones shipped with version 1.0. i had upgraded mine to 1.5 when the US ones came out. but im sure it will still work if it's 1.0
