no
why bother with recon anyway? just pay the fine if you get it. its not a moving violation so your insurance wont be affected, and its totaly not worth saving the $90 going through all the BS involved. plus does this car pass recon stock?

Just be careful about it. HPD has been really tough on recon lately, 1 violation and they'll have you remove it (the sticker) voiding the recon. One guy on FH posted that his recon was all good but he changed his exhaust tip. We all know that you don't need recon for any exhaust system however if you do go in for recon (for other stuff), then your exhaust's condition and state are also noted on those papers. So technically if you change your exhaust tip/muffler, you are also violating the recon law and the conditions in which it was inspected, requiring you to go back in again to update your papers. I know it's dumb and stupid but HPD can tag you and void your recon sticker/papers if your vehicle doesn't exactly match what's on paper.

My coworker got his recon sticker removed, papers confiscated along with a citation because his car was dropped 1 inch from stock, his stock foglights was already below what's allowed via recon law which states that it must be 12 inches off the ground, so that made it 9 inches after the drop even though it's a factory installed item. Not all HPD are anal but they're around. I'm not 100% certain but I think replacing the OEM wheel with a quick-release type won't pass recon and is illegal on public roads, especially if it originally housed an airbag. Another guy I used to work with got caught with nitrous installed, no bottle but the lines did exist. That is also illegal to have on public roads and won't pass recon if they find any lines or fittings for nitrous. I hate our recon law sometimes.

I don't see how HPD can tag someone who's "technically" violating recon but not pull over some 4 foot 5 lady driving a H3 (Hummer). I remember there used to be a sign with a picture in Castle Park for the Rampage ride that said "You Must Be THIS Tall..."

if your going to change things after you get recon then you might as well not get it because if you have recon and change something, you will or can get cited for fraudulent tags which is like a $300 ticket so you might as well not have recon and just get the $90 ticket and go home

Taka speaks the truth. Plus, tampering with the SRS system is illegal so you won't get recon for it.

The headlight requirements to pass recon is 22" from the ground to the centerline of the headlight beam. When i checked, a stock S2000 just barely hits that mark which means if its lowered at all, it wont pass recon guidelines.
